Hein & Associates LLP Names New Managing Partner to Lead National Accounting and Advisory Firm
DENVER, CO James Brendel, CPA, CFE, has been named Managing Partner of Hein & Associates LLP, a national accounting and advisory firm. Brendel, who is a 28-year veteran of the firm and most recently served as the Denver, Colorado, office Managing Partner, stepped into his new national role as part of a planned leadership transition. Brendel takes over for Managing Partner Brian Mandell-Rice, who has worked for the firm for nearly 30 years. Brendel is only the fourth Managing Partner in the firm's 38-year history. "¨"¨

With Brendel's new position, William Mueldener has been named Denver office Managing Partner. Mueldener, previously Tax Principal and National Director of State and Local Tax, will oversee the office and continue to serve clients. He has worked at Hein for nine years.
Under Brendel's national leadership, Hein will maintain its focus on providing audit, tax and business advisory services to public and private companies, notably within five growing and complex industries: energy, manufacturing and distribution, private equity, real estate and construction, and technology.
The leadership transition will be seamless for Hein's clients, as well as its 291 employees who work in four offices - Denver, Dallas, Texas, Houston, Texas, and Orange County, California.

Brendel has more than 30 years of public accounting and audit experience that spans many of the firm's key industries, including energy, manufacturing and distribution, technology and real estate. In addition to his firm leadership role, Brendel specializes in Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and provides public companies with consulting services for SOX 404 compliance, and complex accounting issues. He also regularly assists clients with transactions such as mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings. Brendel is a contributing author to "Software Industry Accounting" and "Mergers & Acquisitions - Business Strategies for Accountants," both published by John Wiley & Sons.
