Staff Additions Enhance Planning and Design-Build Expertise

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO Maureen Paz de Araujo, AICP CTP, and Dave Poling, P.E., join Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Maureen Paz de Araujo, AICP CTP, is a Senior Transportation Planner with 30 years of experience in transportation planning, specializing in travel demand forecasting, micro-simulation based traffic operations analysis, and transportation air and noise impact modeling/analysis. As Transportation Program Director for the Colorado Springs Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), she oversaw development of 10 major transportation plans and supporting implementation programs (TIPs), as well as in-house travel modeling and land use/demographic forecasting. For the last 20 years she has provided consulting services for transportation planning, traffic operations analysis, travel demand modeling, access permitting, and environmental studies. Central to her work are integrated corridor studies that have taken projects from concept thru design, permitting, funding, and implementation.
She has a master's degree in civil engineering and a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Notre Dame. She is a member of American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and is a Certified Transportation Planner (CTP). She is also a member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Southern Colorado, Transportation Research Board (Affiliate Member), Women's Transportation Seminar, American Planning Association - Colorado, and Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) - Colorado.
Dave Poling, P.E., Senior Project Manager, has 32 years of experience in program management and project management, including design-build and Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) project delivery. He supervises and coordinates the work of engineers, technicians, environmental specialists, and property acquisition specialists. He was a Program Manager for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) for 28 years, and was involved in the $135 million COSMIX design-build project that improved I-25 through Colorado Springs. He was also Design Manager on the $52 million I-25 North Design-Build Project. Poling provided direction on numerous other modified and streamlined design-build projects while at CDOT.
Poling has a bachelor's degree in mining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Colorado.
