DENVER, CO Ambient Energy is the first Colorado firm to join the ranks of the International Living Future Institute's (ILFI) JUST labeled organizations.  ILFI created JUST so consumers can easily grasp how organizations treat their workers and give back to their community, much like how they read nutrition labels to see what is in the food they eat. The JUST label program provides a transparent platform of disclosure for socially responsible organizations and corporations.

Founder, President and CEO, Renee Azerbegi said, "Working towards a resilient and regenerative built environment with buildings that have a positive environmental and social impact on the world, Ambient Energy is dedicated to the community which is reflected in this certification."

The JUST certification is gaining momentum in the marketplace with several green building standards now requiring this certification. For example, ILFI's Living Building Challenge (LBC) was the first green building program to incorporate equity criteria with the launch of the Equity Petal in 2009 to further highlight impacts on communities and employees. The LBC requires at least one JUST organization to be a major team member for projects targeting LBC v3.0 certification. There is also an Organizational Transparency optimization related to being a JUST organization in the International Well Building Institute (IWBI's) WELL Building Standard. As one of the Seven Concepts of WELL, the Mind concept recognizes workplace policies that have a positive impact on mood, sleep, stress levels, and psychosocial status in order to promote and enable overall occupant health and well being.

Ambient Energy sought out this certification as a means to not only demonstrate to clients an added-value on projects pursuing the Living Building Challenge and WELL, but also as a reflection of the firm's current socially responsible employee policies. In addition, Azerbegi will be speaking about JUST policies at ILFI's unConference in Seattle, Washington, on a panel called The Business Case for Corporate Transparency and JUST.
