Brasfield & Gorrie Utilizes ILPD to Complete Spring Valley Hospital Expansion
LAS VEGAS, NV Brasfield & Gorrie announces the completion of construction on a $28-million renovation and expansion at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
Spring Valley Hospital is hosting a Community Open House to celebrate the new facility for which construction began nearly one year ago on June 26, 2015.
The scope of the project included a new 88,000-square-foot, four-floor patient tower addition and 15,000 square feet of renovation work. The new patient tower includes an 18-bed post-partum unit, 36-bed surgical unit, administrative offices, and additional shell space for future growth.
Brasfield & Gorrie utilized integrated lean project delivery (ILPD) to deliver this project on schedule. ILPD is a collaborative approach that involves all stakeholders in planning and construction throughout the life of the project. Most commonly used in healthcare construction projects, integrated project delivery (IPD) has been shown to improve construction efficiency, risk management, and predictability of cost and schedule. ILPD goes one step further in helping eliminate waste throughout the entire project life cycle.
