ST. LOUIS, MO MC Industrial, Inc., an independent McCarthy Holdings company, announces the recent retirement of Tom Felton as President of the industrial company. Bob Kohlburn, who has served as MC Industrial Senior Vice President since 2008, assumed the role of President following a yearlong leadership transition with Felton.

"Having started here 30 years ago straight out of school, I can’t imagine a better place to work and spend my career,”" said Felton. "MC Industrial has established itself as an exceptional service provider in the marketplace, and I am excited to watch the company continue on this path with Bob at the helm.”"

Felton began his career with McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. in 1986 as a project engineer working in Texas. In 1990, he joined the firm’s industrial group in St. Louis, Missouri, and subsequently was named president of MC Industrial, a newly formed independent McCarthy company in 2005. He has served as president of MC Industrial since then.

Under Felton’s leadership, the company has grown from a business unit operating within McCarthy with annual revenue of $30 million per year into an independent McCarthy company with annual revenue in excess of $200 million per year with offices in St Louis, Chicago and Houston. Today the firm is recognized as a national expert in industrial and mechanical construction, completing projects for clients across the country including Ameren, Boeing, BP, U.S. Steel, Holcim (US), and ConocoPhillips, among others.

In addition to overseeing the growth of MC Industrial, Felton also dedicated significant time to both industry and community efforts. He served as president of The Association of Union Constructors from 2012–-2016 and on the board of directors for Make-A-Wish of Missouri since 2011.

As Felton’s successor, Kohlburn brings more than 30 years of experience in industrial construction. He joined McCarthy in 2003 as a senior project manager, working closely with Felton and serving as an instrumental player in the formation of MC Industrial in 2005. Since that time, he has held a variety of positions throughout the organization, helping to position the company as an industrial construction specialist and overseeing the opening of the firm’s Chicagoland office in Northwest Indiana. In his new role, Kohlburn will oversee all MC Industrial operations, based out of the firm’s St. Louis headquarters.

"Our clients need a construction partner that can help them tackle the toughest industrial projects in the country. MC Industrial has infused the top talent in industrial construction with McCarthy DNA to meet those needs. We have a great future ahead,”" said Bob Kohlburn, President of MC Industrial.

"Tom has been a tremendous leader for MC Industrial, establishing strong owner and trade partner relationships over the years,”" said McCarthy Holdings Chairman and CEO Mike Bolen. “"Bob’'s commitment to safety and enthusiasm for helping our clients achieve their business goals will help ensure MC Industrial continues to deliver a level of excellence our clients have come to count on."
