DENVER, CO Katharine "Katie" Nees, PE, has been named Practice Leader for HNTB Corporation's Denver, Colorado, office. An HNTB Growth Officer and Senior Vice President, Nees is a nationally recognized leader with more than 35 years of transportation experience. She is skilled at alternative financing and delivery options such as public-private partnerships and design-build-operate-maintain.

Prior to joining HNTB in 2016, Nees served as Director of the Strategic Projects Division of the Texas Department of Transportation. Her responsibilities included direct management of six sections within the division and delivery of $28 billion in complex, high-profile capital projects.

Nees is a past board member of the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association. Additionally, she is a past recipient of the Ethel S.
