DENVER, CO OZ Architects has been recognized with ColoradoBiz magazine's 2017 Top Company Award, one of the state's most rigorous competitions. Editors of ColoradoBiz announced the winners at a gala at the Denver Center for Performing Arts. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the program.

"This award is a gratifying recognition for OZ Architecture because it acknowledges our employees' hard work, as well as the legacy of the firm, which has been a leader in the Colorado design community for over 50 years," said Tracy Tafoya, Principal at OZ. "From mountain resorts like Snowmass Village's revival, to urban workspaces like the new World Trade Center, to solutions addressing the Front Range housing crunch that include multi-family and micro-housing offerings, we strive to continue the momentum that makes Colorado such a world-class destination."

Finalists were selected based on financial performance, community involvement and outstanding achievement in innovation, operational excellence and marketing effectiveness. Winners were chosen by a panel of Colorado business and public policy leaders, upon the condition that each winning company must be headquartered or have a significant presence in Colorado.

OZ has influenced community design throughout the state of Colorado in a variety of practices including hospitality/resort, multi-family, and mixed-use developments.  In addition to contributing to their local communities, OZ's reach extends from Antarctica to Rwanda in creating innovative design solutions that influence the communities in which we work. OZ's internal community outreach program, "OZ Gives," provides the opportunity for staff to embrace one of their core values of community stewardship by planning initiatives to support the community where they work and live.

OZ's collaborative office culture encourages employees to create their own path, develop bonds with their mentors and peers, and feel empowered to take innovative risks in design.  The culture is woven through every project that OZ takes on from concept through completion.
