LJA Announces Mountz Has Joined the Firm as Project Manager
HOUSTON, TX Thomas Mountz, PE, D. WRE, CFM JOINS LJA as Project Manager in the firm's Water Resources Division. Mountz has over 42 years of civil engineering, stormwater management, and drainage design experience. His extensive experience as an Engineer, Project Manager, and Multi-Discipline Team Leader includes water resources management, master planning, floodplain and dam breach modeling, comprehensive drainage masterplans, and stormwater quality analysis. Mountz is thoroughly familiar with FEMA analysis guidelines and map revision procedures, USACE 404 Waters of the U.S. permitting, and EPA water quality guidelines and regulations. Mountz's experience includes FEMA map revisions and studies, grant applications, and construction inspection and oversight.
Mountz is a nationally Certified Floodplain Manager and has served as Region 5 Director, and he is currently Treasurer for the Texas Floodplain Managers Association Board of Directors. He has helped communities and developers prepare and interpret comprehensive drainage master plans, drainage criteria, and land development ordinances. Mountz has also managed road and drainage projects in the greater Austin Area for over 25 years.
As a Project Manager, he will be responsible for developing and managing stormwater master plan development, flood studies, and other water resources projects throughout Texas.
Mountz is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the States of Texas and Florida and a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. Mountz is also a Diplomate of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
