SAN ANGELO, TX  Tracy Cain, P.E., is the new District Engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation' (TxDOT) San Angelo District.

The district comprises 15 counties: Coke, Concho, Crockett, Edwards, Glasscock, Irion, Kimble, Menard, Reagan, Real, Runnels, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton and 
Tom Green.

Cain joined TxDOT in 1985 as a summer employee with the Amarillo District. Cain received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas in 1996 while working for the TxDOT Austin District. Cain then moved to the Borger Area Office where he worked as an Engineering Assistant and Design Project Manager.

In 2000, Cain became licensed as a professional engineer and moved to the Childress District as the Wellington area engineer, overseeing operations in Wheeler, Collingsworth, Donley, and Briscoe counties. He returned to the Amarillo District in 2008 as design engineer.

Cain is an Amarillo native and a 1985 graduate of Caprock High School.
