Tomlinson to Lead KCI's Transportation Market Expansion in Texas
AUSTIN, TX KCI Technologies Inc. welcomes Mark Tomlinson, P.E., to the firm as a Regional Practice Leader for Transportation. Tomlinson will be responsible for growing the firm's presence in the Texas market, specifically around the firm's offices in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Irving.
Tomlinson draws from nearly three decades of experience with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), where he worked for 12 years as District Engineer before finishing his tenure as Director of the Texas Turnpike Authority Division. Tomlinson then joined the consulting field as a Senior Project Director managing multiple TxDOT contracts. Tomlinson has extensive experience in project management, marketing, business development and executive level management for state agencies.
"Through his many years with TxDOT, Mark understands the entire project life cycle and alternative delivery requirements, as well as the potential budget, political and public impacts associated with specific projects," said KCI Vice President Michael Perez, P.E., who leads the firm's Texas operations. "He will help KCI grow our transportation market as he understands how to best support the Department of Transportation."
Tomlinson will also be responsible for recruiting talented engineers and developing alliances and partnerships that further expand the strengths of the KCI team.
In addition to his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas, Tomlinson is a graduate of both the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Program and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials' National Transportation Leadership Institute. He currently serves on the advisory board for the Women's Information Network in Austin.
