Lawlis and Preston Join Johnston as Practice Leaders

HOUSTON, TX Stephen Lawlis, RID, LEED AP joins Johnston as Practice Leader - Healthcare Interiors. Lawlis brings with him over 25 years of experience. He has been involved in numerous healthcare renovation and new construction projects in and around Texas, as well as corporate and government projects throughout the U.S. His extensive experience in all aspects of the design process will enhance Johnston's current design services in healthcare, and beyond.

Lawlis attended the Art Institute of Houston, where he earned a degree in interior design. He is NCIDQ certified since 1997, a Registered Interior Designer in the State of Texas, has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2006, and was a Professional Member of the International Interior Design Association from 1997-2013. In addition to his professional involvements,  Lawlis has been an active member and volunteer with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo since 2004.

Jerry Preston, P.E., CFM has also joined Johnston as Practice Leader - Hydrology and Hydraulics. Preston brings over 20 years of specialized experience. He has managed a team performing analyses and design in land development, transportation drainage, floodplain modeling and mapping, flood reduction, and low impact development design. His talents and experience will enable Johnston to enhance their current services, as well as branch out into new areas to service clients.

Preston attended the University of Houston, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, Certified Floodplain Manager, and serves on the ACEC Houston's Stormwater Management Committee.
