OKLAHOMA CITY, OK,  Kirby-Smith Machinery has hired Bill Sinkinson as Technician Recruiter and Retention Specialist. He will be responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining quality service technicians for Kirby-Smith's 10 branch locations across Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, and Kansas.

Sinkinson brings valuable hands-on experience to the role, having served as a service technician while attending the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology Komatsu Program for two years with Kirby-Smith. He completed the ACT program in 2015 and has also served as a Service Writer for the Oklahoma-City based equipment distributor.

Sinkinson has a background in training and program development from his time in the Marine Corps, and is passionate about the work involved in this new position. "I believe that mentoring and developing quality technicians is the life blood for our company's Service Department. I look forward to working with the staff to develop a quality training plan and programs that support the growth of our technicians here at Kirby-Smith."

Kathy Dunn, Human Resource Manager for Kirby-Smith, reflected that the company's continued growth was the catalyst to create a recruitment position dedicated to the development of the company's service technicians. "With growth comes the need for even more high quality, skilled employees," she said. "Having Bill on board to concentrate solely on the recruitment of service technicians and students for our technology school programs will allow us to place an even greater emphasis on the quality of skills brought to our company."

Dunn also mentioned that Kirby-Smith plans to refine and expand internal training related to technical skills, helping current technicians to continually increase their knowledge and expertise in servicing and maintaining equipment for customers. "I think Bill will be a great asset to Kirby-Smith in helping to achieve this strategic company initiative."

Sinkinson served 11 years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps. He has a Bachelor of Arts in english from the Virginia Military Institute and an Associate's Degree in diesel technology from OSUIT. He moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma, in 2013.
