Patteson, Former TWDB Executive Administrator, to Lead GBRA

SEGUIN, TX The Board of Directors of the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA) approved a motion appointing Kevin Patteson, former Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) Executive Administrator, as GBRA's new General Manager and Chief Executive Officer. Â
Patteson will assumed his duties as General Manager last month.
"After an extensive national search among a group of talented and qualified candidates, the Board of Directors determined Kevin Patteson was the best fit to manage the day-to-day operations of the organization moving forward," GBRA Board Chairman Thomas Mathews said. Â "We were very impressed with his breadth of experience, political savviness, and water industry knowledge."
"GBRA is a leader among river authorities with viable projects and the prospect of bringing cutting-edge water technology to the state of Texas," Patteson said, adding, "And I am honored to have been selected as its General Manager."
As the new General Manager  Patteson will be the public face and the Senior Executive of the GBRA, overseeing the organization's entire operations of more than 150 employees in multiple locations, assets of nearly $250 million, and leading its strategic initiatives in concert with the nine-member Board of Directors who are appointed by the Governor.
Patteson, who earned his bachelor's and juris doctorate degrees from Baylor University in Waco, served as the TWDB's Executive Administrator since his appointment in September 2013.Â
Prior to that, he was Executive Director for the Texas Office of State and Federal Relations, responsible for effectively representing Texas in Washington, D.C., and before that was the special advisor on federal initiatives for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), acting as liaison between TCEQ and members of Congress on federal legislation and regulatory matters. Patteson also was Deputy General Counsel for the Texas Workforce Commission and Assistant General Counsel/Ethics Advisor for the Office of Governor Rick Perry from 2002 to 2008.
