The Ruckus Comes to The University of Texas At Austin
AUSTIN, TX Austin based developer Lincoln Ventures is moving forward with plans for a Class-A student-housing development, two blocks west of the University of Texas at Austin campus. The Ruckus, located at 2502 Nueces St., will offer a creative and boutique living experience for students. The seven-story project will house 45 units with a mix of two to five bedrooms, totaling approximately 160 beds.
"My vision for The Ruckus is to be disruptive and trend-setting in the student-housing industry," said David Kanne, President of Lincoln Ventures. "We want to create a unique living experience for college students, unlike what is typically offered by other institutional developments. We want The Ruckus to have attitude and reflect the personality of today's students."
Amenities at The Ruckus will include a sky gym/fitness center and terrace, cyber café, gaming area, 24-hour study lounges and conference rooms, around-the-clock package concierge, secure access and parking, and coffee bar. The development will include car-sharing options, such as ZipCar or car-2-go, a bike-sharing program, as well as other potential transportation alternatives, to provide convenient access to and around campus.
Individual units will come fully furnished and offer nine-foot ceilings, high-speed Internet, stainless-steel appliances, washers and dryers. Select units will offer dramatic views of the UT Tower and downtown Austin. "I want this development to be both high-quality and fun for students. And, I want it to promote multi-modal transportation near campus," said Kanne. Lincoln Ventures will break ground on The Ruckus this summer and plans to open the building in August 2017, in time for the school year. The development team includes Lincoln Ventures, Mark Hart Architecture and Wuest Group.
