DALLAS, TX Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) conducted a live wire test in preparation for the opening of their South Oak Cliff Blue Line extension in October 2016. The extension will add two stations and nearly three miles of rail between the Ledbetter and UNT Dallas stations.

Federal, state and local elected officials, city of Dallas, Texas, staff, contractors, DART board members, UNT Dallas staff and community stakeholders participated in the test. With the South Oak Cliff Blue Line Extension DART will also add two new stations: Camp Wisdom and UNT Dallas stations and has remodeled the Ledbetter Station.

A new bus route is being added to connect Cedar Valley College with the Camp Wisdom Station. The new segment will improve transportation options for residents of southern Dallas and has the potential to spur economic development in the vicinity.
