Garza-Robledo Joins Texas Engineering Solutions as Land Development Graduate Engineer
AUSTIN, TX Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, and after spending some time in Japan and California, Xavier Garza-Robledo found his way to his home town in Sugar Land, Texas. He then made his way to Austin, Texas, to study civil engineering at the University of Texas because of its reputation for having one of the best undergraduate civil engineering programs in the nation. Garza-Robledo decided to stay and start his career in Austin after falling in love with the city during his time in college.
While at the University of Texas at Austin, he led his UT Austin ASCE Concrete Canoe team to victory by winning 1st place at Regionals and 11th place at Nationals. The ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition is a student competition where teams design and fabricate a canoe made entirely from concrete and reinforcement. Teams are judged on four categories, including design, oral presentation, overall theme and presentation, and race placement.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in May 2016, Garza-Robledo joined the team at Texas Engineering Solutions as a Land Development Graduate Engineer I.
"Xavier's personality, motivation to succeed, and previous experiences are exactly what we look for in young engineers," said Stephen Delgado, Principal/Owner at Texas Engineering Solutions. "We are confident that he is an excellent addition to our team."
Inspired by his project manager role on the UT Austin ASCE Concrete Canoe team, Xavier hopes to work towards becoming a project manager. He enjoys following a project from preliminary design to finished project.
"I find it extremely satisfying to be able to see what you have been working towards come to fruition on the field," Garza-Robledo said.
