HOUSTON, TX The Mission of the Texas Crane Owners Association (TCOA) is to address issues and concerns of Texas crane owners and to develop and monitor regulations and standards for the safe and efficient future of the crane industry in Texas.
The TCOA membership meeting was held recently in Houston, Texas. Jim Anderson presided over the meeting.
TCOA Political Consultant Clint Hackney discussed the Texas Construction Associations' Legislative objectives for the 2017 Texas Legislative Session. Hackney recommended that the members of TCOA support the TCA legislative efforts to modernize the Texas Lien Laws. He next discussed two legislative proposals that will be sponsored by TCOA in the upcoming Session. The proposals are intended to address Texas' antiquated Transportation Code. The current rules are not keeping up with the State's population growth. Several other similar associations will be interested in this issue in 2017, as each have common issues among their membership including increasing vehicle weights, need for access to toll roads and need for uniformity of nighttime rules.
