Goodson of Texas receives NGWA Special Recognition Award

WESTERVILLE, OH Leroy Goodson, former Executive Secretary of the Texas Ground Water Association and General Manager of the Texas Water Conservation Association, both headquartered in Austin, Texas, is the 2016 recipient of the National Ground Water Association's Special Recognition Award. This award is presented to an individual or organization demonstrating dedication, service, and commitment to the groundwater industry through involvement and achievement on a local or regional level.
"Leroy truly demonstrates what this award is all about," said nominator Patrick Casarez, owner of Patrick Water Well in Cleveland, Texas. "For the past 34 years, he has actively strived to build the Texas Ground Water Association, which has become one of largest and active state associations in the nation. In addition to working at the state level, he has worked with the local chapters, as well as at the national level. Leroy has worked tirelessly to reach out to drillers, pump installers, groundwater scientists, manufacturers and suppliers, and anyone with an interest in the water well profession and industry."
Goodson was made an Honorary Life Member of the Texas Ground Water Association in 2008 and received NGWA's Life Member Award in 2012. He was recognized by the Texas House of Representatives for his service and dedication to water resources of Texas and the nation in 2015.
The NGWA Special Recognition Award will be presented to Goodson during NGWA's 2016 Groundwater Week in Las Vegas, Nevada.
