Smith Seckman Reid Hire Gandica and Short to its Houston Office

HOUSTON, TX Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR), a leader among engineering firms in designing, consulting, and commissioning projects, announces two new hires in the Houston, Texas, office. Simon Gandica, PMP, joins the firm as a Senior Project Manager and Matthew Short, PE, has joins the firm as a Project Manager and Mechanical Engineer

"We are very excited and fortunate to have Simon join our Houston office," said Kevin Wolfford, Principal. "Simon brings a high level of understanding and experience of Project and Construction Management as well as a solid background in Electrical Engineering. Having been with Kohler Co. for the past many years, he has in depth knowledge of electrical generation systems design which will be a huge benefit to our firm and clients."

Gandica is an electrical engineer and project manager with 13 years of experience in the industry covering a variety of markets including commercial and industrial. His project management experience includes budget development, scheduling, and risk assessment. 

Short has six years of experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for healthcare, educational, and infrastructure clients. He has been involved in collaborative design projects involving multiple consultants and contractors. Short also has a strong background in BIM management.

Short is a graduate of Texas A&M University-Kingsville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering. He is a licensed professional engineer in Texas.
