Transportation Commission Approves 2017 UTP Funding

AMARILLO, TX The Texas Transportation Commission approved updates to the 2017 Unified Transportation Program (UTP), a 10-year statewide plan for transportation project development. While the commission approved the 2017 UTP in August 2016, Tuesday's action authorizes funding on priority projects and programs, some of which directly impact the Amarillo District in the amount of $105.5 million.
"We are excited that the Commission recognized these critical needs in the Amarillo District," said District Engineer Brian Crawford. "This additional funding allows us to accelerate the expansion of South Loop 335 in west Amarillo and to accomplish important safety improvements in Bushland at Interstate 40 and on the US 54 corridor south of Dalhart."
