JQ Announces Principal and Associate Promotions in Dallas
DALLAS, TX JQ promotes John Bremer, PE, to Principal, Industrial; Billy D. James, PE, to Associate, Buildings; Luis Soto to Associate, Industrial; and Matt Smart to Associate, Geospatial, according to CEO Stephen H. Lucy, PE.

John Bremer, PE, Promoted to Principal, Industrial
Co-founder of the JQ Dallas, Texas, branch, John Bremer, PE, is a Principal leading JQ's Industrial team. He has more than 36 years of combined experience in the architectural, power and petrochemical fields. Bremer belongs to the Structural Engineers Association of Texas and American Concrete Institute. Current projects include Thermal System Improvements, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas; and Permanent Plant Upgrades, Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Billy D. James, PE, Promoted to Associate, Buildings
Billy James has a diverse background in structural engineering spanning 40 years. His comprehensive knowledge and experience through a wide variety of projects including infrastructure, municipal, institutional and commercial clients give him the depth of expertise to serve as JQ's Engineering Technical Lead.
Luis Soto Promoted to Associate, Industrial
Luis Soto serves as Senior Technician in JQ's Industrial team. He has extensive experience with a variety of software platforms, specifically Revit, Leica Cyclone, Bentley MicroStation and Bentley Structural. Soto is highly skilled in the art of modeling, laser scanning/registration, modeling from laser scans and custom Revit family creation.
Matt Smart Promoted to Associate, Geospatial
As JQ's senior Survey Crew Chief, Matt Smart brings more than 15 years of industry experience to the geospatial team. In addition to performing boundary, topographic, and design surveys, Smart also has experience with LiDAR laser scanning.
