Balfour Beatty Expands Texas Office by Three
AUSTIN, TX Balfour Beatty brings on three executives to its Austin, Texas, office. John O'Conner has been brought on as Director of the North Texas Education Preconstruction Department. Jeannie Clemens has been named Vice President of Human Resources. And David Murphey has been brought on as a Senior Project Manager.
John O'Connor returns to Balfour Beatty as Director of the North Texas education preconstruction department, responsible for leadership of the team's daily operations. A 21-year industry veteran, O'Connor has expertise in producing K-12 construction estimates using industry best practices, and a detailed knowledge of design and construction principles. O'Connor leverages market knowledge to provide meaningful solutions that help clients make crucial project decisions. He approaches each project with a new perspective and builds lasting relationships founded on integrity and trust. O'Connor holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
Jeannie Clemens has been named Vice President of Human Resources for the Texas Geography of Balfour Beatty. Clemens completed her Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham in the U.K., and she holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of South Florida. She has particular expertise in partnering with leaders to improve business results and with assisting managers to identify, select, and develop high-performance individuals. Clemens has also designed and executed large-scale culture change projects, Six Sigma, and process improvement initiatives. She will support the Texas Division as their strategic human resources business partner.
David Murphey, a 28-year construction veteran, joins Balfour Beatty as Senior Project Manager with the Central Texas education team. He has spent the last 19 years serving public sector clients in Central Texas including K-12, higher education, state agencies, counties, and municipalities. Murphey has worked with Austin Independent School District since 2000 and was involved in the construction of Austin Community College's Highland Mall Campus and Hays Campus. He is a critical addition to our team and will leverage his expertise to support our rapidly growing education and public sector business. Murphey is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in construction management.
