TWDB Approves Financial Assistance Totaling $50.94M for Water and Wastewater System Projects

AUSTIN, TX The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approves financial assistance totaling $50,935,872 for water and wastewater systems. Of this funding, $4,380,972 was designated for rural projects.Â
$200,000 to the Barton Water Supply Corporation (Palo Pinto and Erath counties) for water system improvements
The Corporation will use the assistance to finance planning, design, and construction costs associated with water system improvements. Improvements at four pump station sites include pump replacements, electrical upgrades, and new disinfection system upgrades.
$43 million to the San Jacinto River Authority (Harris and Montgomery counties) for wastewater system improvements
The Authority will use the assistance to finance design and construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements. It could save approximately $7.6 million throughout the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund. Approximately two miles of pipeline and other equipment at the treatment facility will be replaced.
$1,033,800 to the City of New Deal (Lubbock County) for water system improvements
The TWDB approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1,033,800, consisting of a $935,000 loan and $98,800 in loan forgiveness, from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of New Deal (Lubbock County). The assistance will finance construction costs associated with water system improvements. The city will replace approximately 18,000 feet of pipeline and construct a 138,000-gallon storage tank.
$32,072 to the Bracken Christian School of Bulverde (Comal County) for water system connection fees
The School will use the financial assistance to cover costs associated with connecting to the Canyon Lake Water Service Company. The connection with the Canyon Lake Water Service Company will allow the School to transition off its well water supply and tap into the Company's existing water main. The School will also convert its existing water well into an irrigation well.Â
$1,225,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Krum (Denton County) for water system improvements
The Authority will use the assistance to finance planning, acquisition, design, and construction costs associated with water system improvements. The Authority could save approximately $125,000 throughout the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund. The city will construct a water well at its Masch Branch water delivery site.
$1,890,000 to the City of Quinlan (Hunt County) for wastewater system improvements
The City will use the assistance to finance planning, design, and construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements.
$3,555,000 to the Mustang Special Utility District (Denton County) for water system improvements
The District will use the assistance to finance construction costs associated with water system improvements. The District will construct an elevated storage tank.
