DALLAS, TX Will Hodges, President of Cadence McShane Construction Company, announces that the firm has completed the first portion of Phase 1 of Southport Logistics Park. The 531-acre master-planned industrial development is a joint venture between Port Logistics Reality (PLR) and Diamond Realty Investments (DRI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation.

The venture selected Cadence McShane and Ware Malcomb for the design/build construction of the first two buildings at the park totaling 1.5 million square feet. Constructed of precast concrete, both Class A facilities incorporate attractive design elements such as integrated aluminum panels at the entryways, accent lighting, and contemporary window lines.

Located within the Inland Port area, off of I-45 in Wilmer, Texas, Southport Logistics Park is situated just 12 miles from downtown Dallas, Texas. The site is in close proximity to the Union Pacific Intermodal Facility and the third busiest FedEx Ground Hub in the United States. The site also offers easy access to I-20, I-30, I-35 and the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Completed by Cadence McShane, Building 1 is a 1,075,260-square-foot cross-dock building. Industrial users benefit from modern amenities including 36-foot clear height, 50-foot-by-54-foot column spacing, a 60-foot staging area, 200 dock doors, and 185-foot truck court. Sizable parking for 243 trailers and 630 vehicles is also available.

The firm also delivered Building 7 at Southport Logistics Park. The 395,099-square-foot facility offers an efficient cross-dock configuration, 36-foot clear height, 54-foot-by-50-foot column spacing, 60-foot staging area, 70 dock doors, and 185-foot truck court. Building 7 can accommodate 114 trailers and 270 vehicles.
