AUSTIN, TX The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approves financial assistance totaling $12,605,000 for water and wastewater systems. Of this funding, $3,105,000 was designated for rural projects.

TWDB approves by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $9.5 million from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the San Antonio River Authority (Bexar County). The authority will be able to finance design and construction costs associated with a new wastewater treatment plant.

The authority could save approximately $994,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

The new wastewater treatment plant will be able to treat 0.250 million gallons per day. In addition, the authority will construct pipeline for residential areas in the southeastern section of the service area that are not currently serviced by the authority.

TWDB approves by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $455,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the city of Booker, Texas, (Lipscomb and Ochiltree counties). The city will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction costs associated with water system improvements.

It could save approximately $46,000 over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

The city will replace approximately 4,300 feet of pipeline throughout the service area. The project will help reduce water loss within the system.

TWDB approves assistance in the amount of $1.9 million from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the D&M Water Supply Corporation (Nacogdoches County). The corporation will use the assistance to finance the planning, acquisition, design, and construction costs associated with water system improvements.

The corporation could save approximately $76,000 over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

Improvements to the water system include drilling a new water well and replacing or rehabilitating a 47,000-gallon standpipe, a 150,000-gallon ground storage tank, and two 5,000-gallon hydropneumatic tanks. The improvements will also help reduce the corporation's water loss.

TWDB also approves financial assistance in the amount of $750,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the city of Chandler, Texas, (Henderson County). The city will use the assistance to finance planning, design, and construction costs associated with water system improvements.

The city could save approximately $146,000 over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

Improvements to the system include a new ground storage tank, two high-service pumps, and disinfection facilities, as well as other project components.
