Airport Development Engineer Joins Freese and Nichols in Southeast Texas

HOUSTON, TX Freese and Nichols, Inc. announces John Bush, PE, has joined the firm as a Senior Aviation Project Manager in the Pearland, Texas, office. Leveraging over three decades of experience at one of the most successful Fortune 500 engineering firms, Bush will play an integral role in expanding Freese and Nichols' airport engineering and construction projects across the nation. Â
With more than 35 years of experience in civil engineering, Bush has spent the last 28 years specializing in airport development projects and serving in a variety of roles ranging from program manager to design engineer, and construction manager to field inspector. Supplementing Bush's broad range of capabilities is his in-depth technical expertise, including his qualification in airfield geometric design, heavy aircraft pavement design, drainage and drainage structure design, airfield lighting and signage design, safety requirements for construction on active airfields, airport navigational aids, and construction of hydrant fueling systems.
He has led numerous, large-scale improvement projects for some of the nation's busiest airports, most notably:

Throughout his career, Bush has managed the overall engineering and construction phases for airfield projects, and also provided engineering design on various airport and airfield facilities, such as runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons, airfield roadways and navigational aid designs. He has substantial knowledge of the Federal Aviation Administration criteria and requirements for airfield pavement design, construction specifications and airport requirements for construction safety, and security on active airfields.
Bush earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Houston.
