CLOQUET, MN The Boldt Company's Minnesota operations was recently recognized for its superior performance in workplace safety and health by the Minnesota Safety Council at the Governor's Safety Awards luncheon, when the firm received a Governor's Safety Award.

In determining award winners, the Minnesota Safety Council solicits injury information from workplaces and compares with national data along with a firm's past performance, ongoing safety program, and activities.

Boldt earned the "meritorious achievement" award from the council for meeting specified industry safety benchmarks and achieving incidence rates that are better than the industry average for at least three years.

"It takes the focus and effort of every employee, from the office to the field, to perform well and to make continuous improvements in terms of safety," said Andy Kamm, a Safety Manager in Boldt's Minnesota Operations Group. "We strive to do everything we can to keep every employee engaged in safety."

"Employers such as The Boldt Company know that safety isn't automatic," said Paul Aasen, President of the Minnesota Safety Council. "It takes attention, dedication and continuous effort to protect their employees."

The Governor's Safety Awards luncheon is part of the 81st Minnesota Safety & Health Conference, coordinated by the Minnesota Safety Council. The conference is the oldest and largest gathering of workplace safety and health professionals in the region.
