Darland Announces Construction Start for New Residence Hall
RAPID CITY, SD Darland recently broke ground on a new residence hall located on the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology campus in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Placer Hall will be one of six residence halls that the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology offers to students. Placer Hall is where students can call home - whether it is late night studying, hanging out with friends or relaxing. "¨"¨
The project is being developed by Omaha, Nebraska, -based America First Real Estate Group on behalf of the School's Foundation. This isn't the first project that Darland has partnered with America First. The two firms collaborated on the Jones 13 Apartments and Victory Apartments located in Omaha. "¨
This six-story, all precast building will include 50 suite-style units to house 200 second-year students. Included in each suite will be a living room and bathroom, with some of the suites consisting of two double bedrooms and the others having four single bedrooms. Construction for the new residence hall will be complete in time for the fall semester of 2016.
