Miller-Bradford & Risberg Donates Equipment to Team Rubicon for Site Development Project at Boy Scouts of America's Camp Long Lake

Team Rubicon Heavy Equipment Instructor Shane Pratt directs an excavator operator at a service project in Wisconsin.
RACINE, WI CASE Construction Equipment dealer Miller-Bradford & Risberg donated the use of an excavator and a skid steer to Team Rubicon for a service project and training session at the Boy Scouts of America's Camp Long Lake in St. Cloud, Wisconsin.Â
The site is operated by the Potowatomi Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. The project featured Team Rubicon heavy equipment operators and sawyer teams training with equipment and chainsaws to sharpen their skills for use on future disaster relief deployments. The group forested and cleared a new 40,000-square-foot pad at the camp that will serve as the base area for a future all-terrain vehicle program.Â
Team Rubicon is a veteran-led disaster response organization that deploys teams globally. Its heavy equipment operators have been trained as part of a partnership with CASE that began in November 2015.Â
"Service projects like this give the volunteers valuable operating time in preparation for actual disaster response deployments while simultaneously performing free land improvement work for fellow non-profits like the Boy Scouts of America," said David Venables, National Heavy Equipment Coordinator, Team Rubicon. "It's a win for all parties involved and we're grateful to Miller-Bradford for making the equipment available for the training."
