PS&Co. Hosts Second Annual Construction Industry Conference in Austin

AUSTIN, TX RSM U.S. LLP (RSM), formerly Padgett Stratemann &Co., hosted its 2nd annual Construction Industry Conference in Austin, Texas, at The Archer Hotel in the Domain. This year's event gathered more than 50 people from around the state of Texas to learn more about important industry topics of today from several national-level industry speakers and local experts.
The day kicked off with Tauseef Ghazi, Principal in RSM's security and privacy practice, who provided attendees with information on building a sustainable security program for construction companies. Ghazi discussed some of the biggest cyber security threats to contractors and what organizations should consider to build a sustainable industrial control security program.
RSM Lead Tax Partner Tom Wright gave a Tax Policy Update presentation that explained the two leading tax reform proposals and how they may affect construction companies.
Randy Stutzman, Managing Director for FMI, talked about succession planning for contractors and how to develop emerging leaders to run the company and Connie Collins, RSM HR consultant, gave a human resources update on the changing HR environment during the Trump Administration.
The day closed out with a cocktail hour for attendees and exhibitors.
