Detty, Brown and Walter are CSI Chapter's Members of the Year

Brian Detty, CSI, Ed Brown, CSI, CCA, Assoc. AIA, and Christine Walter, CSI, were each named Member of the Year by the Indianapolis Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute at their recent Annual Awards Banquet. The three members represent separate membership categories within the Chapter. Each was deemed to have provided "outstanding and selfless contributions and service to the Chapter" according to outgoing President Joel Young.

Detty was praised for his efforts in organizing the Chapter's Trade Show in 2015 and again in 2016.

Brown was presented the Fran E. Schroeder Memorial Award that is given to a Chapter Design Professional Member. Brown is a Director at Large for the Institute that Young called "an amazing honor." In addition, Brown has served as Communication Committee Chair, Continuing Education Units Committee Co-Chair and was Chapter President in 2013-2014.

Walter served as Secretary of the Chapter last year and will do so again this year. She also attends and participates in multiple committees on a regular basis.

The Awards Banquet was held at the Skyline Club located atop the AUL Building in downtown Indianapolis.

Young also presented several President's Appreciation Awards that are used to thank those who made a special contribution to the success of the Chapter during the previous year:

 

Scott Perez served as Chairman of the Awards Committee and was on the Golf Committee Ninja.

Chuck Thompson served as Chairman of the Certification Committee.

Kristin Welty was the Chairman of the Tellers Committee and was the President of the Education Foundation.

Joe McGuire was the Chapter Librarian and Chaired the Fellows Committee.

Gene King provided meeting invocations and was the Chairman of the Roster Committee.

Ed Brown was the Chairman of the Communications Committee and Co-Chaired the Continuing Education Units Committee.

David Young served as the Membership and Marketing Committee Chairman.

Jeremy Hoffman was the Programs and Education Chairman.

Michael Halstead was the Co-Editor of the Newsletter and served as Chairman of the Sponsor Committee.

Ryan Muzzillo served as the co-editor of the Newsletter.

Kent Hughes chaired the Social Events Committee and the Table Tops Committee.Nate Davis was the Academic Affairs Committee Chair.

David Fryman served as the Good Will Ambassador and chaired the Golf Outing Committee.

Mark A. Smith served as the 

Secret Hand Shaker.

Joyce White was the chairman of the Orientation, Membership and Markeing and Meeting 

Registrations Committees.

Matt Maier was the Rafflemeister.

Pete Baker was the Special Events Committee chairman.

Jack Morgan was the chairman of the Programs and Education Committee.

Paul Sternberg served as Chairman of the Technical Committee.

Ralph Pitman, Jr. was the Chapter Photographer and also served as the Chairman of the Bylaws and Public Relations Committees.

Ken Schmidt was the Co-Chairman 

of the Sponsorship Committee and Chairman of the Attendance Committee.

Young announced that the Indianapolis Chapter would submit for the Outstanding Chapter Commendation. Young noted that doing so was one of his goals and that he has "no doubt" that this chapter will win the award at the national event to be held in St. Louis in September.
