Pitman Elected Indy CSI President
INDIANAPOLIS, IN Ralph R. Pitman, Jr., CSI, CDT, has been inducted as the new President of the Indianapolis Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute.
Pitman has served nine years on the board of directors with three of those as its treasurer. He has also served as the Chapter photographer and has had significant committee involvement through the years.
Pitman said that he had three goals for his term, including increasing student involvement in the Chapter by adding a student member to each of the existing committees. "This will allow students to see how the committee structure works and to have a voice in future happenings and to understand that each is a valuable component of the future of the organization," he said.Pitman will also focus on growing the membership of the chapter that is already nearly 200 members strong. He said that the keys to doing so are to have "strong and engaging programs, education seminars and a vibrant trade show."
Finally, Pitman said that he hoped to conduct more joint activities with other organizations. "There are many construction-related groups in Central Indiana and we invite each one to one of our monthly meetings held on the third Thursday and discuss having a joint program," he said.
Other officers elected included Jeremy Hoffman (Treasurer), Christine Walter (Secretary), Randy Vogt (Vice President) and Gene King (President-Elect).
New Board members elected included Ken Schmidt, David Fryman and Angela Julian.Returning Board members are Janie Farmer, Christine Walter, Jeremy Hoffman, Mike Halstead, Gene King, Henry Stellema, Randy Vogt and Joyce White.
