INDIANAPOLIS, IN The American Institute of Architects Indianapolis Chapter (AIA) recently toured the Julia M. Carson Transit Center and followed the educational event with networking in the Tomlinson Tap Room in the Indianapolis City Market.
The new Transit Center opened in late June and is located on the corner of Washington and Delaware streets in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.
Amenities at the Center include 19 covered bus bays with Real Time bus information, public restrooms, indoor waiting area, customer service, pass sales and free Wifi internet.
The 14,000-square-foot building was designed by Axis + Interiors and has a rounded, swooping roof.
Construction by Weddle Bros. Building Group began in September 2014 but was delayed when significant architectural findings were made.
