Foothill College Campus Project Receives Excellence in Architecture Award

SAN JOSE, CA The San Jose, California, office of Gilbane Building Company, the program and construction manager for the Foothill College Physical Sciences and Engineering Center project, announced that the Foothill College Campus Project was recently honored by the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) at the 2015 national conference in Chicago, Illinois. The project was recognized as an Honor Award Recipient for 2015 for Excellence in Architecture for a New Building.
"Gilbane has partnered with the Foothill - De Anza Community College District for more than 15 consecutive years and is proud to have supported the College and Ratcliff Architects in the achievement of this special recognition," said Selene Lenox, Vice President, Gilbane Building Company. "Foothill College prides itself in delivering very student-centric facilities and this is just one shining example of that commitment."
The LEED Certified building complex has more than 57,000 square feet of sustainable science and engineering learning environments, breakout spaces, and faculty offices. This facility is designed to be more accessible and build stronger connections with the students in the Commons Building, promoting collaboration and innovation amongst faculty and students.
