SAN DIEGO, CA The San Diego, California, office for Syska Hennessy Group, Inc. a global consulting, engineering and commissioning firm, remains in growth and expansion mode as the firm continues to strengthen its core staff of engineers and undertake new project work.

The office, which currently has a staff of 20 engineers, offers a comprehensive suite of core disciplines, and has enjoyed significant growth in project activity, particularly for sustainability work, in the local San Diego market.

To address this, one of the office's most recent key hires is Senior Mechanical Professional and Sustainability Expert Sharbel El-Haber, who boasts two decades of experience in building systems and energy efficiency engineering.

Syska has also hired recent college graduates to boost its expanding team, including Jonathan Moore, Desiree Robinson and Chad Buckallew who are enrolled in Syska's Engineering Development Training (EDT) program. EDT is a 2-year training course that teaches technical and business practices of the engineering profession. EDTs work closely with Syska Hennessy's senior engineers in a mentor-apprentice relationship.

"As the market continues to accelerate, both Syska and our clients face unique opportunities and challenges," said John Passanante, P.E., RCDD, Senior Principal, who serves as Site Leader for the San Diego office. "One of the core competencies of the San Diego office is the ability to identify and nurture exceptional talent, which we have done with professionals like Sharbel and the others we've added to our staff. Our success is driven by combining our strong platform with a focus on putting clients' needs first, a strategy substantiated by the new assignments we've been tasked with. We're excited about what the future holds for San Diego and our clients as well as the sustainable projects we are working on that will save energy and precious resources."
