Downtown Los Angeles to Receive a New Parking Structure at 8th & Grand Ave

LOS ANGELES, CA  Swinerton Builders announces the commencement of construction of a new parking structure in downtown Los Angeles, California.
Since early June, Swinerton has been providing preconstruction services, working closely with the project architect IDG Parkitects. Joe's Auto Parks, the city's largest parking provider, will own and operate the facility.
Located at 8th and Grand Ave. - just three blocks down from Swinerton's Los Angeles office - the new, 100,000-square-foot parking structure will consist of five levels, with the ground floor containing retail and the second through fourth floors containing 174 parking stalls. The new structure is on a complex site, sitting adjacent to property lines on all sides: two of the sides are busy streets, one side houses an existing building, and the fourth side contains another active construction sitewhich will require coordination with the contractor and owner.
Swinerton is performing general contracting services while putting their own formwork to use as they self-perform all of the concrete work. Formwork fabrication has been on going in Swinerton's yard in Riverside, California. The project is anticipated to complete by November 2016.
