Taylor Design Appoints Einy as Director of Architecture

IRVINE, CA Honored architect Edmund M. Einy, FAIA, joins Taylor Design. Serving as firm-wide Director of Architecture based in the company's Irvine, California, office, Einy brings more than three decades of design and leadership experience creating forward-thinking structures and collaborative partnerships in healthcare, academic, government and commercial industries.
In this role at Taylor Design, Einy provides a single point of leadership to direct the firm's vision for its architecture portfolio focused on healthcare, academic and science and technology markets. Working in tandem with Lance Carlson, Director of Strategies, and Erica Steenstra, Director of Environments, Einy completes the leadership team for the firm's three practice areas.
With a strong social purpose and creative drive, Einy says the buildings he designs represent the values of the people who occupy them, the institutions they symbolize and the communities of which they become a part. Committed to the design of socially responsible buildings, Einy co-led the Sustainability Leadership and AIA + 2030 committee for the purpose of training architects to significantly reduce the energy use of their buildings.

Committed to passing along his knowledge and high-standards to the next generation of architects, Einy served as an instructor at the University of Southern California (USC) and the Southern California Institute of Architecture. He is also a visiting critic at UCLA, USC, Cal Poly Pomona, California College of the Arts, Southern California Institute of Architecture and Pasadena City College. Einy's additional industry involvement includes serving as a juror for various architecture award competitions, chairman and committee member for ten years on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Los Angeles design awards, and a member of the Executive Board of Directors for the AIA Los Angeles from 2004-2008.
A Licensed Architect in California, Einy holds a Masters of Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelors of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture.
