ACEC/MA Announces Odeh Engineers, Inc. as Bronze Award Winner in Engineering Excellence

PROVIDENCE, RI — The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) has named Odeh Engineers, Inc. as a 2019 bronze award winner for engineering excellence for their work on the South Street Landing in Providence, Rhode Island.
South Street Landing consisted of the renovation and adaptive reuse of the former Narragansett Electric Power Station, which is now home to the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center (a shared facility for the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College) and administrative facilities for Brown University.
Using a collaborative approach to the design, extensive high-tech testing and analysis and creative engineering solutions, the South Street Landing team pulled off the transformation of the 1920s power plant. Instead of an eyesore, this building is now the anchor for a new wave of development on Providence’s historic waterfront. Odeh Engineers, Inc. is has offices in North Providence, Rhode Island, and Boston, Massachusetts.
The 2019 Engineering Excellence Awards were announced at the recent ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala with special guest emcees Jonathan L. Gulliver, Highway Administrator at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and Frederick A. Laskey, Executive Director of MWRA.
“Each year we gather to celebrate and recognize engineering firms for projects that demonstrate innovation and excellence,” said Michael J. Walsh, PE, President of ACEC/MA and Vice President of CDM Smith. “We congratulate our winners who work tirelessly throughout the year to advance the goals and values of our organization and the industry.”
