DES MOINES, IA — Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Annual Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Iowa BBQ and Fall Days event was shortened to just a single day, but that and the rainy weather did not stop association members and staff from getting together. The day offered all those attending the opportunity to learn something about the state of their local construction industry and network with fellow contractors.

The Embassy Suites in Des Moines was the site of the educational portion of the day. Meetings were held for the Executive Committee, the Education & Workforce Development Committee, the PAC Committee, the AGC Iowa Foundation, and the AGC Iowa Board.

The Annual BBQ/Open House was held at the AGC Headquarters and was hosted by Jim Hawk Truck Trailers, Inc., Martin Marietta, and Merchants Bonding Company. AGC of Iowa President Kurt Rasmussen welcomed the more than 250 AGC members attending the event and recognized several members of the AGC of Iowa staff for their years of service. A BBQ buffet was offered with ribs, brisket, and all the trimmings, as well as beverages and music.

The Associated General Contractors of Iowa is an organization of qualified construction contractors and industry-related companies. For almost 100 years the AGC of Iowa has been the voice of the construction industry. The association offers a range of services for its members, thereby improving the quality of construction and protecting the public interest.
