AUSTIN, TX — Atlas Technical Consultants, Inc., a provider of professional testing, inspection, engineering, program management, and consulting services, announces the award of an $8-million contract from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services. The newly awarded contract will support the TxDOT's Odessa District in West Texas.

“Atlas' relationship with TxDOT spans more than 20 years, and we are pleased to continue our partnership in servicing the critical infrastructure of this rapidly growing state,” said Atlas CEO, L. Joe Boyer.

Atlas has delivered CEI services for TxDOT since 2015 and will continue to do so for the next four years under the terms of this new contract. Under TxDOT's oversight, Atlas will provide the day-to-day management of construction inspection, material testing, record keeping and documentation, and overall project management for construction activities on strategically selected projects. The Odessa District oversees approximately 8,160 lane miles of roadway, employs 286 employees and has nearly $500 million in construction contracts in progress, with another $500 million scheduled to start next fiscal year.

“We operate as an extension of TxDOT. We work hard to partner with the contractor to deliver on time, on budget, and high-quality construction projects,” said Will Barnett, Project Manager for the TxDOT CEI project.

“Atlas has managed construction oversight for us on some of the most challenging projects in the western Permian Basin oil and gas fields," said Odessa District Engineer John R. Speed, PE. "We are pleased to again have them helping us manage a new round of roadway infrastructure projects to improve safety and access within the nation's largest energy production zone."
