Bergeron Joins the Fenstermaker Team as Grants Manager
BATON ROUGE, LA — C.H. Fenstermaker & Associates, L.L.C. welcomes Tonia Bergeron, PMP, CFM, LEM, into the Fenstermaker fold. Bergeron will add her advanced skills in hazard mitigation and grants management to the Louisiana team as Grants Manager.
Prior to joining Fenstermaker, Bergeron spent 10 years with GOHSEP, building a career that specialized in the full hazard mitigation grants management cycle — from application development to close out, a process which can take years to complete. Bergeron has also worked for FEMA as their Branch Manager for HMA at the LRO in Louisiana for Region VI, as well as a Contractor for HMA projects for Puerto Rico.
Bergeron's work in hazard mitigation, project, floodplain, and emergency management, and familiarity with EHP (Environmental and Historic Preservation) law brings a unique set of skills to the Baton Rouge team under Grants Manager, Gary O'Neal, CFM.
“Tonia has been a fantastic addition to our Grants Team here at Fenstermaker," O'Neal said. "There are relatively few people in the grants space that have experience at the federal, state, and contractor levels. Tonia couples all three with an attention to detail and an ability to connect with our clients. ... We are fortunate to have her skill set, and our clients have already begun to benefit from her knowledge and skill.”
It was during her years at GOHSEP that Bergeron met and worked with O'Neal and fellow team member, Robert Leslie Jr, PE, CFM. Years later, O'Neal would recruit Bergeron to her current position.
In addition to over 16 years of experience, Bergeron holds technical degrees from South Louisiana Community College and the Associated Builders and Contractors.
