Bull to Lead SmithGroup's Washington, DC Office
WASHINGTON, D.C. — SmithGroup, an integrated design firm, promotes Robert Bull to lead the firm's Washington, D.C. office. He is responsible for strategic, operational, and financial leadership and vision for the office.
Bull has been employed at SmithGroup for over 25 years, specializing in the design of higher education facilities. In 2015, he transitioned to serve as the Director of Operations for the Washington, D.C. office before taking on this new expanded leadership role overseeing both operations and office leadership.
Among the largest of SmithGroup's office locations, the Washington, D.C. office employs nearly 200 staff specializing in planning, design, and strategy for cultural institutions, health systems, colleges and universities, corporate workplaces, research laboratories, federal buildings, and urban planning. It is responsible for such projects as the headquarters building for DC Water, MGM National Harbor, National Museum of African American History & Culture, and the forthcoming inaugural building on the new Alexandria Innovation Campus for Virginia Tech.
Bull earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati and is a registered Architect in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Delaware, Virginia, and Ohio. He is a LEED accredited professional and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
