NEW YORK, NY — Burns & McDonnell is growing its Northeast operations with the expansion of its New York City presence and the addition of three industry leaders.

At 9,000 square feet, the new office will enable Burns & McDonnell to expand its work in the vertical commercial, health care, logistics, life science, and mission critical market sectors, while bolstering the firm’s proficiency in delivering renewable energy, power, aviation, federal, manufacturing, major infrastructure, and digital optimization solutions.

The 100 percent employee-owned firm welcomes Damon Gray to lead the New York office and grow the firm’s overall presence in the New York metropolitan area. Gray has more than 26 years of experience in owner, design, and construction roles, and in leading successful interdisciplinary, multi-trade collaborative teams across market sectors.

Joining Gray and the leadership team are architects Karina Moya, who will lead strategy and market development, and David Haakenson, who will lead project execution. The new team brings over 60 years of collective experience overseeing successful multi-disciplinary design, construction, facilities management, and design-build teams.

In the past 20 years, Burns & McDonnell has successfully executed more than 4,500 projects throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. Among its numerous projects, Burns & McDonnell is providing design and construction support for a new $4-billion Delta Air Lines terminal at LaGuardia Airport. The program is ahead of schedule. The first concourse opened in October 2019. Significant milestones are on schedule for 2022.
