Conachen Joins Thornton Tomasetti as Vice President and San Diego Office Director

SAN DIEGO, CA — Thornton Tomasetti announces that Mack Conachen, PE, SE, RA has joined the firm as Vice President and San Diego Office Director.
Conachen has more than 15 years of experience in structural design, analysis, and project management. His work spans a range of project types, including education, health care, biotech and laboratory design, architecturally exposed structures, renovation and rehabilitation projects, and seismic retrofits.
“We are thrilled that Mack has joined our San Diego office,” said Thornton Tomasetti Senior Principal Robert Treece, who oversees the firm's Western U.S. region. “His broad experience in diverse markets and his creative technical skills will further enhance our collaborative teams locally as well as in Los Angeles and San Francisco.”
Conachen will be responsible for the growth and management of the San Diego office, which has a number of high-profile projects in the area including the University of San Diego's Pepper Canyon development. Prior to joining Thornton Tomasetti, he was a Senior Structural Engineer at IMEG Corp in San Diego.

He holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and a master's degree in structural engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a Registered Architect in Wisconsin, a Licensed Structural Engineer, and a Licensed Professional Engineer in California.
