BOSTON, MA — Alex Murray recently joined HNTB Corporation as a Senior Project Manager in the firm’s Massachusetts transportation practice. Murray leads multidisciplinary teams working on roadway and bridge transportation projects, including design-build and environmental compliance issues for clients in Massachusetts.

“Alex is a respected Project Manager for transportation projects, especially design-build procurements, which is an increasingly important delivery method by transportation agencies seeking to maximize resources and accelerate construction programs,” said Gary Bua, PE, HNTB’s Massachusetts Office Leader and Senior Vice President. “He is recognized for his knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and his ability to facilitate complex permitting processes critical to the delivery of important highway projects.”

Murray comes to HNTB from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, serving most recently as Design-Build Project Manager responsible for management of design and construction activities, project development and quality assurance. He is a subject-matter expert in wetland and water resources permitting, and he served as acting manager of environmental compliance for construction.

A cum laude graduate of Merrimack College, Murray holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science.

HNTB has helped shape major elements of Massachusetts’ transportation infrastructure. Projects include Leonard P. Zakim Bridge, Massachusetts Turnpike, John Greenleaf Whittier Bridge, expansion of South Station and Fitchburg commuter rail line, among others.
