Ellis Joins LAN as Vice President and Transportation Business Group Director

DALLAS, TX — Tom Ellis, PE, joins planning, engineering, and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) as Vice President and Director of its Transportation Business Group.

Ellis has more than 35 years of transportation planning and design experience in the public and private sectors. Previously, he served 19 years with a national engineering firm as a Senior Vice President in the following roles: San Antonio and Austin Office Leader, Houston Office Leader, Central Division President in the Texas region, and Southern California Office Leader overseeing the Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County offices. Prior to that role, he worked for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for 17 years and served as a District Engineer before he went into the private sector.

Ellis' expertise is in developing and delivering surface transportation projects. He has worked with major public sector clients such as TxDOT, Harris County Toll Road Authority, Houston Metro, Alamo Regional Mobility Authority, and Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority. Some of the projects that he has been involved with include the Ship Channel Bridge and US 290 Highway in the Houston region, I 410/US 281 Interchange in San Antonio, and the 6th Street Bridge in Los Angeles.

In addition to his business responsibilities, Ellis has served on the Board of Transportation Advocacy Group, San Antonio Mobility Coalition Organization, Houston Council of Engineering Companies, and as the previous President of the San Antonio Council of Engineering Companies. A registered Professional Engineer in Texas, Ellis graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
