CHARLOTTE, NC — Curt Finfrock, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, rejoins HDR as Education/Science/Tech Director for the U.S. Southeast region. Finfrock will be responsible for strategic planning, client development, and project team leadership for education, science, and tech projects in that region.

He will be based in HDR’s Charlotte, North Carolina, office, working closely with the architecture and federal programs in Atlanta, Tampa, Florida, and other East Coast offices.

Finfrock was S&T/Design Principal in HDR’s Bethesda, Maryland, and Alexandria, Virginia, offices from 2009 to 2014. He rejoins the firm after spending the last five years as the S&T Midwest Practice Leader at CannonDesign in Chicago.

“Well-designed facilities are vitally important to successful experimentation and research," Finfrock said. "It’s exciting to rejoin the HDR team, where we have extraordinary opportunities to work with world-leading scientists to collaboratively design these unique architecture and scientific environments."

Over his 35-plus year career, Finfrock has developed a portfolio of science and technology facilities. As a designer, he brings with him expertise in advanced research projects requiring high levels of design integration between planning, architecture, engineering, and innovative scientific applications. His experience includes high energy physics particle accelerators, cleanrooms, advanced imaging, and many associated interdisciplinary science facilities.
