LANSING, MI — Gladwin County Road Commission’s (GCRC) Managing Director, Dave Pettersch, was elected vice president of the County Road Association (CRA) of Michigan at the organization’s 2018 Highway Conference and board meeting.

Pettersch has served as the Managing Director of GCRC for four years. He has served on the CRA board since 2017 and chairs the Northern Michigan Association of Road Commissions (NMARC). He also served on CRA’s Public Relations Committee for two years and is currently serving as the chair of CRA’s Engineering Subcommittee on Warranties.

“I am extremely honored to be asked to serve as vice president of CRA. I look forward to working with Joanna, CRA’s president, and the entire CRA board over the coming year," said Pettersch.  “I believe that this organization is growing stronger every year, and I look forward to being part of its continued success.”

Pettersch earned his Bachelor of Science in construction management at Michigan State University.

Other officers elected to the CRA board include Burt Thompson, the Managing Director at the Antrim County Road Commission and past CRA President. Thompson was elected as CRA’s new secretary-treasurer.

The 83 members of the County Road Association of Michigan represent the unified voice for a safe and efficient county transportation infrastructure system in Michigan, including appropriate stewardship of the public’s right-of-way in rural and urban Michigan. Collectively, Michigan’s county road agencies manage 75 percent of all roads in the state, including 90,000 miles of roads and 5,700 bridges. County road agencies also maintain the state’s highway system in 64 counties. Michigan has the nation’s fourth-largest local road system.
