Georgia Utility Contractors Association Elects 2018-2019 President and Board Members

FOREST PARK, GA — The Georgia Utility Contractors Association, Inc. (GUCA) recently elected Jeff Rowan, President of Callaway Grading, Inc., as the 2018-2019 GUCA President at the 2018 GUCA Annual Conference in Ponte Vedra.

Rowan has served on the GUCA Board of Directors as 2013-2014 Director; 2014-2015 Director; 2015-2016 Secretary/Treasurer; 2016-2017 Second Vice President; and 2017-2018 First Vice President. He has served on several GUCA committees including Community Service, Finance, Membership and Safety.

Rowan graduated from Woodward Academy and went on to at attend Auburn University. He founded his company Callaway Grading, Inc. in 1998. They purchased their first tractor that same year and were run out of a small shop behind Rowan's home in McDonough, Georgia and worked primarily in residential clearing, grading and storm drain contracting. Two years later, Callaway Grading qualified for a utility contractor's license and began to focus on commercial and municipal waterline and sewer installation, in which they currently specialize. Since then, the company has built a new shop and office building in Hampton, Georgia and has adapted and expanded their work to fit the needs of the growing community. As President and Owner of Callaway Grading, Jeff has helped the company grow to 20 employees.

In his personal time, Jeff enjoys skeet shooting, hunting and spending time on Lake Sinclair with his family. His personal achievements are having the opportunity to run his own business and his marriage to his wife of 25 years. Jeff also serves the community with his church, Mt. Carmel UMC.

Rowan will also serve with newly elected officers and directors that include: First Vice President Joseph Webb, RDJE, Inc.; Second Vice President Michael Corbett, The Corbett Group, LLC; Treasurer Randall Popham, Blount Construction Co., Inc.; Secretary Debbie Elliott, Elliott Construction Co.; and Ex-Officio Billy Crump, LaKay Enterprises, Inc. The new associate directors elected include Cal Garretson, Waites & Foshee Insurance, Inc. and Blake Jones, Yancey Bros. Co. Directors elected for 2018-2020 include Andrew Culpepper, C.A. Murren & Sons Company, Inc.; Chuck Hucks, Western Summit Constructors, Inc.; Ryan Pounds, Peed Bros., Inc.; Bobby Touhy, Civil Site Services, Inc.; and Chad Zeis, Gunter Construction Co., Inc. Those continuing on the Board as Directors for 2017-2019 include Brian Burleigh, Dennis Taylor & Company, Inc.; Tammy Cawthon, Alan Cawthon, Inc.; Jason Ray, Archer Western Construction, LLC; and David Westrick, Ruby-Collins, Inc.
