LANSING, MI — Governor Gretchen Whitmer appoints David Alade to the International Authority for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.

“David is bringing his extensive professional background and skillset to the International Authority for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project,” Whitmer said. “His expertise will be crucial, and I know he’ll remain deeply committed to the betterment of the Detroit community and our entire region as work progresses."

Alade is a Founding Partner of Century Partners, LLC, a real estate development company that rehabilitates historic and dilapidated homes in the city of Detroit. Prior to his current position, he was an Investment Banking Vice President for Credit Suisse Securities, LLC, and an Investment Banking Associate with Barclays Capital, Inc. Alade holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and urban studies from Columbia University.

Alade succeeds Matt Rizik, who resigned effective February 12. His term recently commenced, and in accordance with the Crossing Agreement, will expire one year after the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge.

“Detroit’s international border is one of our city’s and region’s most unique assets, and I am honored to have an opportunity to play a role in unlocking its potential to improve the economic fortunes of our region for the next 100-plus years,” Alade said. “It is clear that Governor Whitmer and her administration are dedicated to working with our Canadian partners to deliver the Gordie Howe International Bridge project, which is a world-class and transformative undertaking and includes a robust community benefits plan. I am eager to learn from my fellow board members and serve to the best of my ability.”
